Logistics, which includes road transport, is an important sector in the UK economy.  Moving products around the UK and exporting,  from manufacturing, processing and retail can only take place because of logistics.   Around 90% of all goods are moved directly by road transport as it provides convenience and flexibility for door-to-door delivery, and it supports the ever-growing e-commerce sector.

Logistics is an industry worth £billions to the UK economy, around 1 in every 12 people you meet are employed in the logistics sector.  In road transport there are more than 34,000 companies involved in distribution.  In Greater Lincolnshire there are around 18,000 people working in the sector.
