Three unique and complementary Food Enterprise Zones are developing apace, strengthening Greater Lincolnshire's position as a key player in the agri-tech sector, and positioning the Midlands Engine as a national leader within this field.
The development of these three Food Enterprise Zones will support both existing agri-food businesses as well as those looking to invest and relocate. Food Enterprise Zones (FEZs) will unleash food entrepreneurs, bringing together researchers, farmers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers so they can improve productivity.
The Greater Lincolnshire LEP was awarded planning support for three Food Enterprise Zones with sites at:
- Europarc III focusing on supporting growth of the existing seafood and value-added food processing cluster on the Humber
- Central Lincolnshire at Hemswell Cliff, supporting the growth of the arable food sector
- Holbeach close to the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, focusing on the high value food chain, and part of the Peppermint Park project.
Each Food Enterprise Zone is developing a unique offer and is keen to support those involved in the agri-food supply chain (start-ups, growing businesses, larger companies) and to encourage inward investment.
