We're looking for a business leader to join our Board of Directors and to chair our Employment and Skills Advisory Panel.

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you champion learning and skills in your organisation?  If so the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership wants to hear from you.

The LEP is looking for a business leader to join its Board of Directors and to chair its Employment and Skills Advisory Panel.

The Employment and Skills Advisory Panel, previously known as the Employment and Skills Board, will have an increasingly important role in employment and skills recovery plans in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This position requires a strategic thinker with at least three years' experience working in a relevant senior position who has strong links with the business community,” said Pat Doody, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“The role calls for an intelligent, clear-thinking individual who can collaborate and influence across a broad range of issues affecting the LEP’s area.”

The Employment and Skills Advisory Panel brings together employers, skills and training providers and other key stakeholders to consider employment and skills priorities within Greater Lincolnshire.

It considers viewpoints across a wide range of topics including the post-16 skills agenda, careers education, digital exclusion, adult learning, unemployment, funding for training, apprenticeships, and stimulating business demand for higher level skills.

Pat added: “Employment and skills sit at the heart of economic growth and this LEP has built a reputation for working across sectors to identify and develop the right interventions which bring the greatest impact to our young people and residents and which address skills gaps in business.

“We remain fully committed to driving the employment and skills agenda, and in our emerging Local Industrial Strategy we have already identified significant opportunities for growth across a number of sectors. We are progressing now with even greater incentive and purpose.”

The role is voluntary and for an initial period of three years and will involve six director board meetings per year for the main LEP Board.
