A new Innovation Council has been established to advise the Greater Lincolnshire LEP board on strategy to drive innovation across the Greater Lincolnshire area, increase business start-ups, business growth and productivity and improve the economic prosperity of the area.

The Innovation Council will bring together representatives from the public and private sectors to advise the GLLEP Board on innovation strategy, priorities and programmes.

The council is chaired by Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, and is seeking to recruit dynamic people with experience and expertise in innovation, who have the enthusiasm and desire to move the agenda forward for the benefit of Greater Lincolnshire.

A knowledge of developing, launching and commercialising new products or services is essential along with the enthusiasm and passion to create a step change in the way local businesses perform now and in the future.

Strong business networks locally and nationally are desirable and people are being encouraged to apply from across the whole Greater Lincolnshire area.

The council will have a core membership of six and will invite selected experts with specific skills to attend themed meetings, which will be held quarterly. The appointment will be for an initial term of three years.
