Business leaders gathered to discuss what our Local Industrial Strategy should cover.

On 20th April the Greater Lincolnshire LEP brought together around a dozen business leaders and the MP for Spalding and the Deepings, the Rt Hon John Hayes MP, to discuss what our Local Industrial Strategy should cover.

The meeting was hosted by the University of Lincoln at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing in Holbeach. Representatives of South Holland District Council also joined the discussion.

The LEP is leading the development of a Local Industrial Strategy for Greater Lincolnshire. Our approach is to build a strategy from the bottom up – a business -led approach.

The LEP wants to understand what local businesses think our strategy should cover: how it should evolve, what the priority themes should be, and the actions which businesses need from national government and local agencies to support their growth.

We will use the findings from this and similar events elsewhere to help shape our emerging Local Industrial Strategy and to draw out the connections between national strategy, local strategy and the needs and opportunities in local areas.

Further information about the Local Industrial Strategy is available here. Similar events are already planned for the Boston and Lincoln areas. A note of the meeting can be also downloaded on this page.

More details about any of these events are available from Cathy Jones at the LEP - email cathy.jones@lincolnshire.gov.uk.
