The National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM)
NCFM is the UK’s leading provider of food chain training from L3 to post graduate, with a specialism in training and career progression for staff in the food chain through advanced apprenticeships.
It runs a wide range of short professional courses and business support and innovation services. NCFM emerging technology capabilities complement established strengths in core food sector specialisations including food safety, microbiology and food processing.
It is the anchor tenant on the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone where it has a new Centre of Excellence and a building for the Lincoln Institute of Technology. NCFM specialises in innovation support for food processing robotics and automation, food safety and microbiology, advanced food processing technologies and food supply chain development.
NCFM also works with the Food Refrigeration and Process Engineering Research Centre (FRPERC) to support the cool chain, and a new Centre for Food and Fresh Produce Logistics will be launched in 2022.
