The LEP is looking for a secondment from a partner organisation to support our work on employment and skills.

Do you have a passion for skills and employment?  The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is looking for a secondment from a partner organisation to support our work on employment and skills.

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is a partnership of business, public sector and further and higher education leaders with a mission to increase productivity, create jobs, grow the local economy and raise the quality of life for all those who live and work in our area.

Greater Lincolnshire has an ambitious plan to increase skills and create the conditions for the local skills system to nurture and grow talent which will meet the needs of the local economy and our business community.

We are seeking a Skills Policy Officer for a secondment of either six months or a year. We are offering the opportunity to work within a small team at the LEP in Lincolnshire and to be involved in delivering skills programmes, as well as supporting the policy lead on skills as we work towards a local industrial strategy.

Specific tasks will involve: developing and managing our skills capital programme, supporting and guiding local skills programmes, development of a careers and enterprise programme, and translation of national policy into briefings for local partners and translation into local delivery.

You will need to be a curious and analytical thinker with excellent research skills and the ability to develop and maintain critical relationships with our many key partners.

You will have a flair for presenting information in a clear and accessible way for a variety of audiences, from the web to Employment and Skills Board reports, and not be afraid to contribute your own thinking to our strategic development.

The successful applicant will remain on the payroll of his or her home organisation and we would reimburse salary costs. Existing terms and conditions would apply during their time with the LEP

Application is via a CV and covering letter. This should set out what you hope to take back to your organisations from the secondment and what you can bring to the LEP. These should be emailed to: clare.hughes@lincolnshire.gov.uk by Friday 23rd February 2018.

We will select an applicant for the post, following informal interviews  based around your CV and covering letter and the key competencies set out above. We will provide feedback to applicants not selected.

For informal enquiries, please contact Clare Hughes, Skills Manager at the LEP, on 01522 550545 or Ruth Carver, LEP Director, on 01522 550540.

Closing date: Friday 23rd February 2018.

Interviews scheduled: End of February or beginning of March 2018.
