LEP seeks new members for its Board of Directors, Employment and Skills Board and Finance and Audit Committee

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is calling for business leaders to join its Board of Directors, Employment and Skills Board and Finance and Audit Committee.

The LEP, established in 2011, is seeking members of Greater Lincolnshire’s business community who have a passion for area and want to help drive its economy forward.

Candidates must be strategic thinkers and be able to take a broad view across the full range of issues affecting the LEP’s area. Potential candidates are also required to live or work in Greater Lincolnshire.

The LEP would particularly like to encourage women in business to come forward and apply for the roles.

Ursula Lidbetter MBE, Chair of the LEP, commented: “We have a strong and ambitious vision to develop a bigger and stronger private sector. We are making great strides on delivering our Strategic Economic Plan and exceeding our targets for both job creation and gross value added (GVA) growth.

“We want to help our business sectors increase productivity and innovation, create new employment opportunities and develop infrastructure that supports our growth. We are working hard within the Midlands Engine, the Humber Estuary and the Northern Powerhouse to deliver for Greater Lincolnshire.

“We’re looking for new board members who can add value to the wider work of the LEP. We are particularly keen to hear from female business leaders and those with a knowledge of skills.”

The news of the LEP’s latest recruitment drive comes after the Government pledged to reform the way LEPs operate to strengthen their work in driving economic growth.

“With the Government looking to strengthen the role of places in driving economic growth, the challenges and opportunities that Brexit will bring and a Midlands Engine and Northern Powerhouse agenda, there is much for our LEP to do,” said Ursula.

Roles are voluntary and will involve six director board meetings per year for the main LEP board or between four and six meetings per year for the Employment and Skills Board and the Finance and Audit Committee..
