The popular Greater Lincolnshire Online Jobs and Careers Fair will return for its next virtual event on 25th January.

The popular Greater Lincolnshire Online Jobs and Careers Fair will return for its next virtual event on Monday 25th January.

January’s event, designed to bring employers and jobseekers together in one place just like a physical jobs fair, will be next in a series of live jobs fairs taking place each month throughout the new year, hosted on a new dedicated site: https://greaterlincsjobsfair.co.uk/

The past two jobs fairs have welcomed a total of around 750 people to the site where more than 60 exhibitors have used the platform to engage and speak with potential future candidates.

Clare Hughes, Skills Manager at the Greater Lincolnshire LEP said: “Despite the challenges that businesses continue to face heading into the new year, there are employers who are recruiting for a number of positions at the moment.

“Owing to the restrictions that continue to be enforced across the region, it has not been possible for us to hold a traditional jobs fair, so instead we teamed up with local job centres and partners to create a platform that provides a solution for employers who like to meet and chat with potential candidates.

“We have received brilliant feedback from both visitors and exhibitors from the last two online jobs fairs, and we hope that the event will continue to grow in popularity and offer an aid to those who are looking for a job at such a challenging time.”

One jobseeker who has attended the virtual fair was Emily Heathcote. “The online jobs fair was really helpful - the site was informative and easy to navigate and I visited a range of stalls and spoke to several employers over the course of the event,” she said.

“The chat function and the ability to request video calls were useful for engaging with those employers with opportunities of particular interest, and they enabled me to establish connections that have already led to a development in my job search.”

The event on Monday 25th January will take place from 10am until 1pm.

The Online Jobs and Careers Fairs are free to attend. To see all of the exhibitor information from previous fairs and to take a look around the virtual platform ahead of the next event, visit: https://greaterlincsjobsfair.co.uk/

It is also free to exhibit at the event, and stands are available to employers and supporting organisations across the Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland area.

If you have a question about being an exhibitor, would like to get involved as a future speaker, or wish to submit a video about careers in your sector, please email jobsfair@lincolnshire.gov.uk.
