The LEP is recruiting to fill positions on three of its leadership boards

Are you a business leader who works or lives in Greater Lincolnshire with good links across the area and industry knowledge? If so, you can help drive the area’s economy by joining the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership leadership team.

The LEP currently has vacancies on its Board of Directors, Employment and Skills Board and Finance and Audit Board. It’s seeking members of Greater Lincolnshire’s business community who have a passion for the area and want to help drive the local economy forward.

Local Enterprise Partnerships were established by David Cameron’s coalition Government in 2011 to help improve the economic conditions across England by enhancing the relationships between the public and private sector.

Since then, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP has made great strides in delivering its Strategic Economic Plan and exceeded its targets for both job creation and gross value added (GVA) growth. But there is so much more to achieve for the area and that’s why the LEP is seeking your support.

Earlier this year, the Government pledged to reform the way all 38 LEPs work to strengthen their role in driving forward long-term economic growth.

One of those reforms is to increase the amount of female representation on LEP boards. The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is particularly keen to hear from female business leaders and leaders who have an in-depth knowledge of skills – one of the LEP’s priority themes.

Candidates must live or work in the area and be able to take a broad view of all the issues affecting the LEP.

Roles are voluntary and will involve six director board meetings per year for the main LEP board or between four and six meetings per year for the Employment and Skills Board and the Finance and Audit Committee.

The deadline to apply is fast approaching! Interested parties should send their CV and covering letter to sue.groves@lincolnshire.gov.uk (01522 553003) by no later than 30th September 2018.

For a more informal discussion, please contact Ruth Carver on 01522 550515 (Directors Board), Clare Hughes on 01522 550545 (Employment and Skills Board), or Kate Storey (Finance and Audit Committee) on 01522 550540.
