Business Lincolnshire's #GoDigital18 conference pulls in over 100 businesses

Last week, over 100 businesses and representatives from across Greater Lincolnshire attended the first #GoDigital18 conference at the University of Lincoln hosted by Business Lincolnshire.

The event, intended to bring together Greater Lincolnshire’s technology stakeholders, was hosted by BBC Click presenter Kate Russell.

Conference delegates were treated to a wide range of presentations, exciting debates and interactive polls. Jeremy White, Executive Editor of Wired UK, headlined the event with an inspiring talk about the huge advances that are being made in voice recognition and artificial intelligence technology.

The event also saw some audience-led polls on the biggest technological barriers facing Greater Lincolnshire in this digital age. Businesses from the area including Selenity, Root2Recruit and Viking Signs gave first-hand accounts about the advantages of embracing digital technology in their businesses.

Samantha Harrison, Head of the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub, said “It’s great to be able to offer local businesses the chance to open their eyes to a rapidly developing world of technology and offer inspirational talks from some leading industry experts.

“We hope businesses can take a lot of inspiration away from events like this, to put into practice in their own businesses. Lincolnshire’s digital sector is rapidly developing, and we want to offer the support to facilitate that development.”

During the event, Business Lincolnshire also launched its new website which hosts a business directory for organisations to network and build relationships with other businesses. The new element is also intended to encourage more businesses to identify possible clients and new customers.

The new website will also feature useful factsheets, videos, webinars and useful websites within the new toolbox section which is intended to help new start-up businesses in Greater Lincolnshire. Businesses will also have the option to add potential recruitment or procurement opportunities or search for other opportunities.
