The Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) is a partnership which supports the economic growth and prosperity of Greater Lincolnshire by preparing individuals for work and supporting their development and progression within employment.

It aims to support Greater Lincolnshire as a great place to learn, work, recruit, invest and innovate in the engineering and manufacturing, digital, and construction sectors. 

Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) is a partnership between the University of Lincoln, North Lindsey College and University Campus North Lincolnshire, University Centre Grimsby, Boston College, Grantham College and University Centre, Lincoln College, Riseholme College and Lincoln UTC.  Founded over four years ago the partnership has built on its existing provision and strong employer relationships to continue to develop and deliver training and qualifications that meet regional needs. 

LIoT specialises in manufacturing and engineering including motor vehicle and agritech, construction and digital training and education.

It partners with employers to deliver broad support including high quality apprenticeships and higher-level qualifications as well as bespoke training. With strong employer relationships across sectors, including Siemens, Bakkavor, OAL Group, Anglian Water, National Grid, The Canal Trust, Cranswick, British Steel, and also many SMEs, LIoT has industry experienced professionals delivering training and education that meets local business needs. 

Institutes of Technology have been established by the Department of Education as leaders in the provision of high-quality, higher-level technical education and training across a range of STEM occupations and industries.

LIoT works with employers across the region to deliver high quality apprenticeships, higher level qualifications and education, and training bespoke to employers and job roles, including employers:

  • seeking an apprenticeship for existing staff or to recruit new staff
  • looking to upskill existing staff - to retrain, multi-skill or to support progression
  • looking to develop higher level skills to support the sustainability and growth of the organisation

The LIoT ‘one door’ gives access to all partners, LIoT business development teams and training needs analysis support. This ensures access to the training and education needed to support employers to help them select the best route for staff development.
