Lincolnshire County Council has available funding for Lincolnshire farmers to undertake their CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation) training through the LEAF scheme. CEVAS can provide you with the tools, knowledge and practical guidance to host safe and impactful farm visits.

This two-day in-person CEVAS Education course brings together farmers at a rural location for a packed schedule to learn about the practicalities involved in hosting visits, how food and farming can be incorporated into the school curriculum, and how to communicate effectively with both teachers and pupils. Sessions are led by LEAF’s experienced team providing insights from a school’s perspective as well as seasoned farm visit veterans.

In October, the UK Food Valley team joined farmers for an insight into their training at Dyson Farming’s  Nocton site. Participants collected plants for bracelets, used nets to sweep for insects and noted ten sounds from their surroundings. Edward Gorst from Oxcombe, who took part in this training said:

“The CEVAS education training was a really inspiring, encouraging and engaging event. It was great to meet likeminded people from the industry who are also looking forward to welcoming young people on their farms.”

LEAF also have training dates available for February 2026 in Market Rasen. If you'd like to see if you're eligible for the funded places, please contact Jessica.Foster@lincolnshire.gov.uk
