AgAnalyst recently relocated their London office to Barclays Eagle Labs in Lincolnshire to facilitate their business growth, co-locate with like-minded agri-food sector entrepreneurs and tap into the expertise within the UK Food Valley cluster.

Being surrounded by other agri-tech founders and like-minded individuals has been hugely positive for the innovation team. Opportunities for collaboration within the university and other tenants has enabled the flow of knowledge and brought new opportunities to meet with investors, local councillors, other agri-tech businesses, and large corporations.

AgAnalyst is an agri-tech start up whose founding idea was to make data science more accessible to farmers.  They want to put data science and precision farming within the reach of every farmer and enable them to be the principal beneficiaries of the data from their own fields, soil tests, farm machinery, and their farming operations.

Through connections made via Innovate UK projects, AgAnalyst have already been working with the University of Lincoln for several years, mainly on nitrogen use efficiency, and a key benefit of being based in the heart of the UK Food Valley is both the access to the university research teams and the talent pool available to support their business growth.

The uptake of precision farming is still with the innovators and early adopters but has yet to become mainstream.  This is what motivated the team to launch the AgAnalyst Academy to promote best practice in precision farming by working closely with progressive farmers, their advisors and precision technologists in order to accelerate the profitable adoption of precision agriculture in a commercialisation model with the aspiration of Making Precision Farming Pay.

Their product, DataBaler, takes the noise out of yield maps and provides farmers with one clean layer of data. The DataBaler platform is working across three continents in six countries, with new overseas relationships being formed as we speak. They have a good customer base in Argentina, with 900 farmers signed up to the platform, covering an area of 525,000 hectares – this is growing at a rate of 2 football pitches every hour!

AgAnalyst have been supported by Barclays Eagle Labs, and hope to continue leveraging this support as their business grows. The team, made up of data scientists, software engineers, agronomists and commercial professionals with experience in the agricultural sector, are looking to fundraise £1 million to drive business growth. Once achieved, they expect revenues to triple or even quadruple. To support this growth, they hope to hire a diverse skill set from the local talent pool within Lincolnshire’s agri-food sector.

With a strong foundation, global reach, and bold ambitions, AgAnalyst is poised to transform farming through data-driven solutions.
