Lincolnshire County Council's Adult Skills & Family Learning service is delighted to welcome LAGAT College to its Open Framework of approved providers.

In the 2021/22 academic year, working with local employers, LAGAT College are contracted to deliver traineeships to support the hospitality, childcare and business administration sectors.  Traineeships are quality work experience placements for aged 16+ year olds that provide experience, job skills and an English and Maths booster, helping a young person get ready for an apprenticeship or job if they don't yet have the skills or experience needed.

LAGAT College already has a strong working relationship with Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) providing apprenticeships to help LCC grow its workforce. Feedback below from the apprentices involved demonstrates how flexible LAGAT College is as a training provider and the benefit of undertaking an apprenticeship:

"I found the AAT Level 3 Apprenticeship challenging but enjoyable. My tutor was fantastic and was always on hand to help. Things were difficult after the lockdown and I found moving to online learning a struggle, especially whilst trying to home school one of my children and keep my younger one entertained…     At the moment I'm happy in my current role but I feel having this qualification is an asset if I did ever want to move roles."

"Undertaking the AAT Apprenticeship has helped me grow in confidence and this has had a direct impact on my work. This confidence has enabled me to seek solutions to problems identified and I am now able to present clear options analysis and a preferred route. I have also undertaken various other pieces of work, of which my knowledge from completing the apprenticeships has helped, for example I now complete a quarterly financial dashboard for Management. "

"As a Manager, I can highly recommend taking the opportunity of the apprenticeship levy to help up skill your team. It's been a privilege working on his programme and watching the skills and knowledge develop" - LCC employing Manager

Claire Taylor, Petch Assistant MD and LAGAT Recruitment Manager comments: "LAGAT College are proud to be working with LCC, for both the delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships to support school leavers and employers alike and are also keen to support Lincolnshire’s employers with a whole host of fully funded NVQ’s, short courses and our customer service excellence programme, World Host. This is particularly beneficial to visitor economy and hospitality sectors."
