The deadline is approaching for applications to become our new Chair or to join our Board of Directors.

A new Chair is needed to succeed Pat Doody when his term ends this year, and we are also looking for new Non-Executive Directors to strengthen our Board.

Our new Chair will be a private-sector appointment and the successful candidate will lead the organisation through the next phase of development alongside our CEO Ruth Carver.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative business leader who will build on the LEP’s four game-changing sector developments across energy, food, ports and defence and lead the LEP’s projects and programmes to drive economic growth.

With an outstanding knowledge of the Greater Lincolnshire business environment, the new Chair will have the credibility to represent the area at a regional and national level and will possess superb ambassadorial and negotiating skills.

He or she will ensure that the LEP functions effectively within a framework of corporate governance and transparency in line with the LEP's robust structures, and with a style that encourages a collaborative approach to setting strategic priorities and decision making.

He or she will take on a three-month handover role following board approval in early 2023. The LEP would particularly like to encourage women and people from diverse backgrounds to apply for the role.

If you think you fit the bill and would like an informal discussion, please email chair.greaterlincslep@lincolnshire.gov.uk or ruth.carver@lincolnshire.gov.uk before Friday 27th January 2023. A full candidate information pack is available here.

Meanwhile business leaders living or working in Greater Lincolnshire or Rutland could share their experience and expertise and help to shape the future of our local economy by joining our Board as Non-Executive Directors.

We’re looking for at least three Non-Executive Directors from the private sector to join our Board, particularly focused on energy, SMEs, manufacturing and health and care.

We are happy to consider experienced and new Non-Executive Directors. You may be seeking your first non-executive board role to develop your strategic awareness and sharpen your decision making and critical thinking, or you may be an experienced business leader who is passionate about the future of Greater Lincolnshire and wants to make an active contribution to its development.

Either way, our Board is composed of leaders from a variety of professions, sectors and life journeys; we enjoy great conversations, stretch each other’s thinking, make things happen and learn together. We also encourage applications from female business leaders!

These are voluntary roles, and Board Directors will be required to attend virtual or face-to-face meetings every six weeks, with opportunities to get involved in task and finish groups as required.

If you are interested please email ruth.carver@lincolnshire.gov.uk for an informal conversation or call on 07787 508000.  To apply, please send a CV or covering letter to amy.o’sullivan@lincolnshire.gov.uk by Friday 27th January 2023.
