The LEP is seeking private-sector leaders to join a new Defence Board for Greater Lincolnshire tasked with developing and growing the defence sector across our area.

The successful candidates will have a track record of experience and success in the defence industry and an in-depth knowledge of the sector in Greater Lincolnshire.

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP works with businesses, education and local authority partners to drive economic growth. We secure public and private investment to deliver a range of programmes and initiatives with partners to improve infrastructure, skills and business support and are known for our strong sectors in defence, food, manufacturing, renewables, visitor economy, and ports and logistics.

Thanks to our historic links with the RAF and our long history in engineering and manufacturing the defence sector has been identified in our emerging Local Industrial Strategy as a major opportunity for economic growth.

The successful candidates will attend meetings of the new Defence Board and leverage contacts and influence in the defence sector for the benefit of Greater Lincolnshire and its economy.

These roles are voluntary and will involve attending three to four meetings per year.

We particularly welcome applications from women and candidates from diverse backgrounds.

For an informal discussion about the roles please contact Ruth Carver, Chief Executive, on 07787 508000.

To apply please submit a covering letter and a CV by Sunday 10th January 2021 to sue.groves@lincolnshire.gov.uk.
