Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) Programme

WiME's aim is to encourage women and girls to choose a career in manufacturing and engineering. It started as a Green Port Hull initiative and is supported locally by North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, private sector companies, Jobcentre Plus and the National Careers Service. Since launching in August 2016, WiME helped women and girls understand career opportunities in the manufacturing and engineering industries and has put them directly in touch with a huge variety of the Humber's employers ranging from small software houses to large multinational companies. It has given them a better understanding of the roles that exist, allowed them to meet with women doing these jobs, gain a better understanding of the different career routes into the sector and provided assistance in applying for jobs and accessing training programmes.
