Greater Lincolnshire LEP congratulates its partners awarded with OBEs in the latest honours list.

Three Greater Lincolnshire LEP partners are set to receive an OBE from the Queen after being nominated in the Government’s latest honours list last week (8th June).

Councillor Mrs Patricia Bradwell, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services at Lincolnshire County Council, Debbie Barnes, Director of Children’s Services in Lincolnshire, and Gill Alton, Chief Executive of the Grimsby Institute, have been nominated to receive an OBE for their service children’s services and education respectively.

Cllr Bradwell has been a county councillor since 1997. As well as serving as a councillor for over 20 years, she is also a member of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP’s Employment and Skills Board, and her contribution continues to be valued by the wider LEP family.

Debbie Barnes joined Lincolnshire County Council in 2006. Since then, in her role as director of children’s services, she has established a strong partnership with the Safeguarding Children Board and helped raise the standards of children’s services in the county.

Gill Alton will pick up her OBE for services to education as she continues to serve as the Chief Executive of the Grimsby Institute Group. In her role, Gill has made engaging the business community to support higher education one of her main priorities.

The honours system serves to recognise people who continue to make a meaningful contribution to British society, from a variety of walks of life. Most nominations are made by the Government.
