The LEP is looking for a health and care expert to join its board of directors.

The health and care sector is one of the top priorities for the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership – which is why the LEP is looking for a health expert to join its board of directors.

The LEP is looking for a private or public-sector leader from the Greater Lincolnshire area currently working in the health sector to join the board, which meets every other month and sets the vision and direction of all LEP activity.

“The health and care sector forms one of our emerging priority sectors, presenting a wealth of opportunity including competitive sector leadership,” said Ursula Lidbetter MBE, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“We have a growing and ageing population and we are a large area with many dispersed towns and villages. This is creating opportunities for economic growth in the health and care sector, which currently employs 58,000 people and is worth £2 billion every year to our economy. It also encourages innovation in the planning and delivery of new models of health and social care for the benefit of residents.

“Opportunities include developing and embedding innovation across the NHS through the new Schools of Life Sciences and Pharmacy at the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park; deploying assistive technology; and ensuring our housing stock can meet the whole-life needs of residents.

“We are seeking a health and care expert with a strong understanding of Greater Lincolnshire who can help us to maximise these opportunities and give us access to a network of influential contacts in the sector.”

The candidate will be a strategic thinker who can take a broad view across the full range of issues affecting Greater Lincolnshire. The role is voluntary, and will involve six meetings per year, lobbying MPs sometimes in London, possibly attending other meetings as a board representative, and background reading.

For an informal discussion please contact Kate Storey on 01522 550540. To apply for the role email your CV with a covering letter to arrive by Friday 9th June 2017 to kate.storey@lincolnshire.gov.uk
