Greater Lincolnshire is blazing a trail in driving innovation in our big game-changing areas.

Greater Lincolnshire is blazing a trail in driving innovation in our big game-changing areas, with FreeportFood-TechDefence, and Green Energy opportunities at the fore and some truly ground-breaking developments on the drawing board. In the latest news, the LEPs £2m Clean Growth Accelerator fund focused on exciting innovations and R&D is reviewing submissions next month. The new Gravity R&D Centre is expected to complete in May with tenants signed up including a significant investment from the United States, who will create a large number of jobs in Lincoln and contribute to important local supply chains.

Meanwhile the Humber Freeport is busy establishing a Freeport Innovation Liaison Group this spring to support growing innovation clusters linked to energy, logistics, health, and specifically the seafood cluster centrally located. The UK Food Valley continues to build momentum; you can find out more about these successes by visiting the website and across other stories in this edition.

The Humber Freeport has been working with LEPs, universities, and other key stakeholders across the Humber to pull together a strong innovation strategy for the Humber Freeport which is required by Government to drive forward the all-important delivery phase and create hotbeds of innovation. Once established the FILG will look to support high growth sectors right across the Humber estuary. The establishment of an innovation group will target priority clusters in green energy and industrial decarbonisation, ports and logistics, health, and more focus on high growth sectors in the Humber such as seafood. The Humber Freeport Innovation Sub-Group chaired by the Greater Lincolnshire LEP will be appointing members of the Freeport Innovation Liaison Group soon so please get in touch if you are a senior leader in the key sectors and are interested in being part of the next phase of this exciting opportunity.
