Olympic gold medallist Georgie Twigg MBE will be the guest speaker at our property dinner next week.

Lincolnshire’s Olympic gold medallist Georgie Twigg MBE will be the guest speaker at a dinner hosted in London later this month by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

The LEP is to host its annual property dinner on Thursday 19th October at the Mayfair Hotel in London during MIPIM UK, the country’s largest event for property professionals.

“Our dinner is attended by investors and developers from London and across the UK and it’s a tremendous opportunity for us to promote Greater Lincolnshire,” said Jill McCarthy, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP's Investment Lead, who is organising the event.

“As a home-grown Lincolnshire success story Georgie Twigg is a fantastic ambassador for our area and we’re looking forward to hearing her speak at the dinner.

“We’re also excited to welcome property professionals from all over the country who will be keen to hear about the housing developments, employment sites and new hotels on the horizon in Greater Lincolnshire.”

Also in attendance will be members of Team Lincolnshire. Originally a collaboration between the LEP and property and construction professionals at MIPIM in Cannes, the group is now being opened up to other sectors, notably manufacturing and agrifood.

Team Lincolnshire members act as passionate ambassadors for Greater Lincolnshire and are a diverse group of people ranging from entrepreneurs to academics and global business leaders.

Georgie Twigg grew up in Lincoln and attended first Repton School and then the University of Bristol, where she studied law.

She has won an Olympic women’s hockey gold medal (2016) and a bronze medal (2012) as well as Commonwealth Games bronze and silver medals and a World Cup bronze medal in 2010.

She was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 2017.

MIPIM UK takes place on 18th and 19th October at Olympia in London.
