Lincolnshire’s Olympic gold medallist Georgie Twigg MBE was the guest speaker at a dinner hosted by the LEP in London in October.

The LEP’s annual property dinner at the Mayfair Hotel took place during MIPIM UK, the country’s largest event for property professionals.

The event was an opportunity to promote Greater Lincolnshire to investors and developers from London and across the UK.

“As a home-grown Lincolnshire success story Georgie Twigg is a fantastic ambassador for our area and everyone thoroughly enjoyed her talk,” said Jill McCarthy, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP's Investment Lead, who organised the event.

Georgie Twigg grew up in Lincoln and attended first Repton School and then the University of Bristol, where she studied law.

She has won an Olympic women’s hockey gold medal (2016) and a bronze medal (2012) as well as Commonwealth Games bronze and silver medals and a World Cup bronze medal in 2010.

She was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 2017.
