The Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Conference will take place at the University of Lincoln on Friday 15th September.

Manufacturing in action will be the theme for the Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Conference taking place at the University of Lincoln on Friday 15th September.

Bookings are now being taken for the event, which is expected to attract 200 business leaders from the manufacturing and engineering sector across Greater Lincolnshire and beyond.

Those attending will share ideas on the future of manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, innovation, Brexit implications and an update on what the Midlands Engine is doing to support the region’s advanced manufacturing supply chain.

Among the speakers will be Sir John Peace, Chairman of the Midlands Engine, Steve Middlebrough from Siemens who also sits on the board of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Steph Neave from Engineering UK and Dr Michael Gallimore from the Support and Innovation Programme at the University of Lincoln’s School of Engineering.

“This conference is dedicated to supporting the manufacturing sector in Greater Lincolnshire and building on the success of previous events,” said Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development at Lincolnshire County Council and a Board Director at the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

“This year there is a focus on ‘manufacturing in action’ and we will be discussing innovation and sharing ideas on the future of manufacturing, with live demonstrations of some of the latest technologies available.

“We have been fortunate to work with two prominent local manufacturers – Siemens and FCC Environment – who have very kindly agreed to provide industry site tours to give an interesting insight into production practices.

“The conference is a major milestone in the Greater Lincolnshire manufacturing calendar and I would urge those with an interest in the sector to book early to avoid missing out.”

The conference takes place at the new Isaac Newton Building at the University of Lincoln from 8am until 2pm on Friday 15th September.

Following the conference at 2.30pm delegates will have the opportunity to choose one of two optional site tours: the Siemens service centre at Teal Park or the FCC Environment energy from waste plant on Whisby Way

Places at the conference are limited and booking is essential.
