Business leaders and training providers gathered in Sleaford to discuss apprenticeships

On Thursday 2nd March the Greater Lincolnshire LEP hosted its latest Big Debate in Sleaford, and the topic under discussion was apprenticeships.

Business people and training providers gathered to hear the latest updates and to ask questions about changes to the way apprenticeships are run and paid for.

After LEP Director Ruth Carver gave an introduction to the LEP, speakers included Clare Hughes, the LEP’s skills lead; Mike Johnson MBE, regional ambassador for the National Apprenticeship Service; and Bev Moxon from the Skills Funding Agency.

Those present asked questions ranging from funding to the Apprenticeship Levy which comes into force next month.

A further LEP Big Debate on apprenticeships will be held at the EPIC Centre, Lincolnshire Showground, on Friday 24th March. To sign up visit the Eventbrite page.

Next week (6th to 10th March) is National Apprenticeship Week.
