Greater Lincolnshire is truly an attractive place to start or grow your own business and it is important that we promote it.

With a fast growing economy, where unemployment and crime rates are low and schools have consistently performed above average, a mix of beautiful countryside, historic buildings, pretty market towns, miles of sandy beaches and vibrant urban centres, Greater Lincolnshire has a lot to offer and the LEP is working with partners to develop a Place Marketing strategy so that we can tell everyone how great it is.

Greater Lincolnshire has competitive strengths in a number of industries, notably agriculture and food, engineering, and the low carbon sectors.  It has a thriving visitor economy and a growing healthcare sector, encompassing some of the largest and busiest international ports in the UK, which alongside an expanding airport, also make this a natural hub for the logistics sector.

Home to a range of centres for education, training and research, Greater Lincolnshire boasts two universities, seven further education colleges and two University Technical Colleges, as well as many independent training providers.  From the industry-led CATCH supporting the energy, engineering and renewables industries, new laboratories at the Science and Innovation Park in Lincoln, and the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, a rich mix of qualifications, training and commercial research and development is available.

The South Humber bank stands on the brink of an unprecedented level of investment for growth in offshore wind, as well as in other low carbon goods and services, and represents the potential to create wholly new supply chains.  This opportunity alone boasts the potential for up to £60bn of private investment over the next fifteen years.  This is fast becoming one of the investment hot spots of the UK, offering a wealth of opportunities with developments and commercial space open for investors and development partners to jump on board.  Greater Lincolnshire is actively promoting the area to attract new investment from abroad and co-ordinates investor development support packages.
