Lincoln City Football Club has announced it will be continuing its membership of the Team Lincolnshire ambassador programme.

The League One club, which first became a member of Team Lincolnshire two years ago, has since become a key part of the organisation.

“We are pleased to announce that we are to continue our partnership with Team Lincolnshire during 2021, said Lincoln City FC CEO Liam Scully.

Both parties are at the heart of the community and can play a big part in rebuilding the local economy following the Covid-19 pandemic, he said.

The purpose of Team Lincolnshire is to drive economic growth and to be the voice of the local business community, while ensuring that the economic interests of the area are properly represented.

Liam added: “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Team Lincolnshire, and we will work together to help the economy recover following this extremely tough period for us all.

“We know from the University of Lincoln’s Economic Impact Report that we significantly improve the fortunes of local businesses, and through continued collaboration we aspire to reach previous levels and target further growth as we play our role in the stimulating local economic regeneration and growth.”

Karen Seal, Place and Investment Manager for Team Lincolnshire, said: “We are delighted that Lincoln City FC will continue to support Team Lincolnshire. Their prominence and influence across the city and beyond plays a huge part in delivering our Team Lincolnshire message and nurturing investment for the region.

“We are looking forward to continuing our great relationship with the club, and we’re so excited for the incredible journey Liam and his team are currently undertaking. The success of the club is so important to Lincolnshire and we will do everything we can to support them.”

Liam Scully will be delivering a Team Lincolnshire webinar dedicated to the importance of sport, arts and culture to the visitor economy on 25th May 2021.
