One of the main objectives of Team Lincolnshire aside from using it as a platform to promote Greater Lincolnshire as a place to invest is to encourage collaborative working amongst our members and the public sector in our region.

Many of our members are already working with us to bring our schemes into fruition. Two great examples of this is the work which is currently being undertaken on two of Lincolnshire County Council's and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP's most significant projects; The Food Enterprise Zone (FEZ) at Peppermint Park, Holbeach and the Skegness Business Park.  Both projects are being supported by a number of Team Lincolnshire members who are working on a variety of roles.

The £150m+ Peppermint Park in south east Lincolnshire will provide through the Holbeach Food Enterprise Zone up to c.60,000 sq m of purpose built employment space designed to nurture and grow the agri-food sector. This area's economy is heavily influenced by the agri-food sector, and this development will create a pipeline of growth for Holbeach over a 15 to 20 year period.

Phase 1 of the FEZ will be delivered on land already owned by Lincolnshire County Council. Road construction started in November 2019 and an early anchor occupier within the FEZ will be the University of Lincoln which will commence with the construction of their Food Centre of Excellence and an institute of Technology in 2020. .

Gleeds one of the founder members of Team Lincolnshire are project managing the Holbeach project. Anglian Water are implementing all of the water and sewerage facilities, while William Saunders are the Site Supervisors and NMCN are the contractors

Nigel Burch, Head of Economic Development at South Holland District Council comments;

'We are thrilled to be part of this exciting and innovative project which has the potential to future proof our local economy for many years to come and set South Holland on the map as a centre of excellence for Agri-tech. As members of Team Lincolnshire we are delighted to see fellow members collaborating on the FEZ, working together to secure the future of Lincolnshire's economy.'

Skegness, whilst being Lincolnshire's largest seaside resort is also the focus for industrial activity and home to most of the large non-tourism businesses within the Lincolnshire Coastal strip.

The Skegness Business Park is an exciting project that will meet the towns need for economic infrastructure in the form of commercial business and employment land. Lincolnshire County Council recognised that the ability for the town to further accommodate growth of existing business requiring new land or premises, to attract new inward investing industrial operations is significantly constrained by a lack of available, ready serviced commercial development land for new business to locate and a lack of available business premises for new start and growing businesses to occupy.

The proposed Skegness Business Park project will address this by delivering a phased project plan that will enable a 31 hectare Greenfield site to be opened up for mixed use commercial and leisure development. By funding this project Lincolnshire County Council and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP are demonstrating their commitment to unlocking the potential for the site by developing 4 hectares spade ready" employment land  and 6,000 sq.ft. of industrial units.

Working in collaboration with external design consultancies, Team Lincolnshire members BSP Consulting were commissioned by Lungfish Architects on behalf Lincolnshire County Council to provide civil engineering design services for the construction of a new adoptable highway as part of a multi-phase development to expand the existing Skegness Business Park.

Tom Haywood Civil Engineer at BSP explains their role:

'"SP have advised the developer on the use of approved ground stabilisation measures to improve the quality of the ground at formation level, which should allow for a thinner road construction and reduce the volume of site soil requiring disposal for a more sustainable development and improve safety by reducing vehicle movements to and from site.

The proposed access road has been designed with light-industrial traffic in mind and will serve a number of new commercial/industrial units which will seek to boost the local economy in Skegness and create new jobs in the local and surrounding areas."

Other Team Lincolnshire members who are working on the project include Anglian Water, Banks Long and Co and Lambert Smith Hampton.

Both schemes are terrific examples of how Team Lincolnshire is fuelling the local supply chain, supporting the future economy of the county and giving Team Lincolnshire members opportunity to work on some of our most significant projects.
