The Innovation Council wants to drive innovation across Greater Lincolnshire, increase business start-ups, growth and productivity and improve economic prosperity. We want to bring the right people together, create and commercialise ideas for new products and services and make the most of the resources and expertise at the University of Lincoln.
Our economy is primarily made up of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and many of these are relying on 20th-century processes and working methods while the rest of the world moves on into the 21st. We are determined to help all our businesses to adapt, be creative and use new technologies in order to prosper rather than be left behind.
We meet four times a year and our membership draws together some of our most innovative thinkers, from entrepreneurs and consultants to academics and even a former Facebook executive. By bringing together innovators, SMEs, corporates and academics, and by hosting exciting events and workshops, we aim to nurture an innovative mindset in Greater Lincolnshire, encourage inward investment in innovation and focus on the benefits of an innovative approach to SMEs and start-ups.
