The purpose of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP is to drive economic growth and to be the voice of the local business community, ensuring that the economic interests of the area are properly represented.

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is a business led partnership made up of private and public sector leaders. Working with Government and stakeholders enables us to deliver the strategic projects and programmes that will drive local prosperity and economic growth.

Greater Lincolnshire is now widely regarded as a very successful LEP and has gained a strong reputation for delivery and influence, with many schemes and investments now taking shape.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP has been working closely with partners and the Local Resilience Forum throughout the pandemic to support our local economy, businesses, and workforce. See our current progress here.

Our £307 million growth plan is progressing at pace and we are driving some crucial national agendas from food to water to skills, as well as being recognised in Government as offering some unique opportunities for national pilots.

More than 120 members now sit on our boards, with over 100 of these directly from the business community.

In 2014, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP became a company limited by guarantee and from 2015, the roles and responsibilities of LEPs significantly changed, with local budgets handed down directly from central Government.

The company has a Finance & Audit Committee, an Appointments Committee and an Investment Board which have delegated responsibility for these functions with Lincolnshire County Council taking the role of the Accountable Body.  The Investment Board ensures a commissioning approach is taken to develop programmes and projects and scrutinises and ensures that priority strategic projects are approved for LEP support and funding to deliver the Strategic Economic Plan. The primary purpose of the Finance and Audit Committee is to assist the LEP Board in ensuring that the company maintains satisfactory financial systems and systems of financial and operational control, and that any published financial reports comply with statutory requirements whilst the Appointments Committee’s principal remit is to manage the process for appointing Directors and Company Members to the Greater Lincolnshire LEP as set out in the Company’s constitution.

No financial transactions are made by the LEP directly as these are made through the Accountable Body.  As a consequence, the LEP Company does not enter into transactions in its own name, nor record any transactions in LEP company accounting records.  The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is open and transparent in all its activities and decisions.
